Occasional users : worse than  newbie ? Think we’ve done it before but have forgotten a lot….

Our lab has occasional use for EPICS , OPIs from one digitizer vendor. We have a couple of  copies of CSS 4.1.0 for the past year running on mac , our limited use with vendor-supplied OPI has “just worked” . 

Now trying to install a new CSS version on WIN7 box , and failing.  Steps so far:

Both installations complain on startup about missing fonts , colors and \BOY examples\main.opi. Installation details say BOY 5.0.0.2016etc installed. Have found 2012 tech talk message similar to this problem , advising use of help system to “ look for  CSS Applications, Display,BOY, Color, Font “ . Alas, Help from css won’t launch . Was my installer corrupted ? CSS and eclipse both complain about missing files from remote URLs , so maybe only a temporary server issue .

 

I’ll be happy to uninstall everything and follow a known path to happiness if the versions are not the best, or happy to help debugging if new with logs etc.
