Hi Kathryn,

Since I don't have any real hardware (I have just two control command manuals from Danfysik), I am planning to use an simulator while I am developing the basic EPICS IOC. But, you did already the great job, which I may use as the shoulders of Giants.

And, I spent a little time for the initial setup of a git repository (github), which I would like to test the basic functionality on the 8500 controller, based on the FRIB DB/proto files. The current status has nothing except FRIB DB/proto files.

Are there any repositories or reference document which I may access? If so, I can fork your repository, then, the working model should be as general as possible within the git model.

It may use the first step to create the hardware list site (discussed in last Spring EPICS meeting) also and to increase the EPICS IOC as general as possible (aka Standard IOC template).

   Thanks,
   Han

We have just gone through a whole lot of Danfysik PSUs here, using
the 9100s (two different specific models), 8000s, 838s (which I think
are specific but use the 8800 underneath, so a different command set
to every other model I have encountered), using asyn/stream. The
setup of macros, st.cmd, db, and proto files we have allows us to
just set a few macros to define a LOT of the variances, so we have
one single IOC. We based it off the MICE 8000 ioc (which covers the
8500 and 9100 as well). Our setup also allows for systems to have a
calibration file, so that you can relate your current to a field,
although that bit hasn't been tested in the 'wild' yet, nor has the
setup to allow for systems to be bipolar (or not). If anyone wants
the various protocol files, db files and the associated st.cmds I can
try and put them together to share, but that really would be a
collection of files rather than something you could build and use
yourself, so they would need some tweaking to put! into a standard
IOC template, as would the code around them potentially.

Regards, Kathryn

We developed and tested some asyn/stream support for the Danfysik
9100 at NSCL/FRIB. It's not a full-blown IOC but just a stream
protocol file and a database template to go with it. But if anyone
wants to use those as a starting point I can send them the files.

Hi,

One of ESS system also may use a Danfysik System 8500, so I am
interested in to see that any existent EPICS IOC available. If
anyone has it, please let me know.

Thanks, Han

Hello,

We are purchasing several Danfysik model 9100 power supplies for
FRIB at MSU. Before developing a new EPICS driver, we are
curious if any users already have one for either the 8500 or
9100? Danfysik told us that the command set is the same for both
models.
