Well, the only thing I think I did was this:
In CONFIG_SITE.darwin-x86.darwin-x86,
# Homebrew OpenMotif # MOTIF_LIB=/usr/local/lib MOTIF_INC=/usr/local/include
Then, I thought everything worked… At least that’s my recollection.
On my previous MacBook Pro (retired in January 2016), when I did El Capitan upgrade, it broke MEDM. Until then, I was using MacPorts, but decided to switch to HomeBrew. I will check what I did on that machine later. Perhaps, there are some hints there… I also have a few machines that I can test (machines with HomeBrew but no MEDM installed). I will do so probably tomorrow.
Glad to hear that there’s some hope. Can you please mail me the configuration makefile fragments you used to build?
Thanks,
That’s strange… I’m running OpenMotif 2.3.4 via HomeBrew with MEDM without any problem on my Mac. As I recall, all I had to do was to install OpenMotif (and any other things I needed for MEDM). I’m running on El Capitan, if that makes any difference. As far as I can tell anything I can make MEDM do, so far, it has been working fine…
I will check, however, if there is any hints to your problem, at least with respect to MEDM.
