For the record, we are also working on a motor model 3 driver with support for co-ordinate systems, trajectory scans and read/write variables to the controller. This starts from the work that Matt Pearson originally did to provide a model 3 driver, and adds a trajectory scan interface in the same style as Mark Rivers' XPS driver. It is currently in active development and we are looking to start deploying it mid-Autumn.

The code is available on the "diamond" branch of:
https://github.com/dls-controls/pmac

We called it pmac as we would like to merge the PowerPMAC model 3 driver into this too. We can move it to epics-modules when we've done an initial release.
