For this position (based at European Spallation Source, Lund), our client would like to acquire an engineer to support the Hardware and Integration Team in the development of EPICS integration for a number of different systems.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Analysis and definition of requirements for control system components 

·         Architecture and design of control system components 

·         Implementation of control system components 

·         Testing of control system components 

·         Maintenance, support and improvement of delivered control system components

·         More specifically, the consultant shall support the ICS with the following type of services: 

·         Analysis and definition of requirements for the development of EPICS control systems for different applications. 

·         Development of EPICS device support, EPICS databases and HMIs for different applications. 

·         Testing of EPICS control systems for different applications 

·         Testing and documentation for the different developed control systems. 

·         The areas of services required in this Call-Off are: 

·         Control system hardware components 

·         EPICS device support and databases and HMIs 

·         The main responsibilities of the Consultant are collaboration in the EPICS integration of controls for the following applications: 

·         Neutron detector card controls design and implementation 

·         Neutron detector card timing and control demonstrator 

·         Trajectory support in the motion control IOC implementation and verification 

·         Gather requirements for Neutron Scattering System sample environment 

·         Beckhoff fast temperature data readout EPICS integration 

·         Detector power supply EPICS integration 

·         G02 and G01 systems EPICS integration. 

Requirements:

·         Knowledge of EPICS 

·         Experience with programming (C/C++, Java) and scripting (e. g. Python) languages 

·         Hands-on experience with control system hardware 

·         Experience with device integration, support and maintenance
