For those attending the training a bundle containing the version 4.5.0.2 C++ bundle and materials for the exercises is available and can be downloaded from SourceForge:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/epics-pvdata/files/Training/

Instructions are in the README. This builds against EPICS base R3.14.12.* or 3.15.*. You may also want CS-Studio to view images and tables (any recent version should do - I've mostly been using 4.1.2).

The bundle is targeted at Linux.

A VM is also available. It recommended that those without Linux use this (but you can use this on Linux if you wish too).

It includes EPICS base installations (including R3.15.2), the 4.5.0.2 release built against R3.15.2 and the materials for the exercises. It also contains a version (4.1.2) of CSS.

A training wiki has been set up:

https://ess-ics.atlassian.net/wiki/display/EPICS/EPICSV4+Training

Thanks to Leandro Fernandez at ESS for doing this.

Instructions for obtaining and setting up the VM can be found there.

Please let me know if you any problems problems with the bundle, VM or wiki.

I hope you enjoy the training.

Regards,

Dave
