Dear all,
We are delighted to announce the 2016 Personal Computer and Particle Accelerator Controls workshop, to take place from October 25th to October 28th, 2016, during the warm spring of Campinas, Brazil. This edition of the
workshop will be hosted by the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS). This is the first time Brazil will host the PCaPAC workshop, which celebrates 20 years in 2016.
PCaPAC traditionally focuses on emerging technologies, software and low-cost solutions, gathering young and experienced engineers/scientists from all over the world to share techniques and get in touch with the latest trends in particle accelerators' control
technology. Technologies presented and discussed in PCaPAC include web and local applications, user interfaces, FPGAs, embedded systems, cyber security, networks, commercial off-the-shelf systems, software management practices, etc. New ideas around these
themes are always welcome.
** Agenda
The workshop will run for 3 days, October 26th-28th 2016, preceded by a tutorial day on October 25th 2016. The scientific program of the workshop will include invited talks, contributed orals and posters.
The tutorial sessions will be comprised of short courses on selected and trending topics, including: hands-on session on embedded Linux, using a commercial off-the-shelf board to build and customize a Linux system; hands-on session about the usage of the Python
language on embedded systems, best code practices and python frameworks.
Registration fees for the workshop include daily lunch and refreshments, as wel las one conference dinner and a trip to visit LNLS' installations.
** Abstract and Manuscript Submission
The PCaPAC 2016 website is now open for abstract submission, via JACOW.

The deadline for abstract submission is May 15th, 2016. Authors with accepted abstracts must submit their manuscripts between June 16th and September 18th, 2016.
Topics include:
* Control systems (Status reports, Control system frameworks, EPICS, Tango, Tine, Network design, Reliability and longevity of control systems)
* User interfaces and Data Displays (mobile systems, web services and other)
* Cyber security (Gateways, Internet connectivity and other)
* Hardware technologies (DSP, FPGA, single-board computers, accelerator specific development, Timing System PC buses and other)
* Modern Data Acquisition (commercial off-the-shelf systems, (real-time) operating systems, embedded systems, PLCs, IOCs and other)
* Management of Software projects (Development processes, Quality Assurance, version control, in-time development and other)
* Databases (Control DBs, extremely large databases, noSQL DBs and other)
* Feedbacks and System Modeling (Tuning and optimization techniques for feedback control systems)
Proceedings will be published in JACOW website.
** Registration and fees
Registration will open on May 16th, 2016, with a reduced fee until July 31st, 2016, according to the following price table:
