Hi Arnold,
thanks to everyone for proposed solutions !

sequencer usage seems to be very feasible and
useful for a lot of other applications...

Regards,
Gennaro

Hi Gennaro -

Look into using the sequencer for something like this. You could dynamically assign process variables to array variables and then loop through the arrays (which would represent the attribute PVs) to "copy the setup of a module to a module." Additional PVs would direct the sequencer which channel to copy from and which channel to copy to.

Just an idea ... a few more details need worked out.

Subject: parametric PV save/restore

Hi,
my EPICS IOC has a set of PV of this format:

<MODULE_ID>:<CHANNEL_ID>:attr1
<MODULE_ID>:<CHANNEL_ID>:attr2
...
<MODULE_ID>:<CHANNEL_ID>:attr<n>

where <MODULE_ID> and <CHANNEL_ID> is inside 0...15 interval;

I'm looking for a "strategy" to give the operator
the feature of copy the setup of a module <x> to a module
<y> or copy a setup of a channel <x><c> to a channel <y><c>;

Thanks in advance,
Gennaro
