Back when I had a rack full of networking gear that I needed to manage

via serial interfaces, I put a Stallion multi-port RS-232 card in a

Linux box. It had good kernel support, and each port appeared as its own

tty device. Then I could ssh to the box and access each port via minicom.

I suppose you could likewise use a Stallion card in a Linux box that

runs an IOC to control serial devices using asyn.

It's been a while since I've used these. I'm seeing old hardware on

eBay. I don't suppose they make more modern multi-port serial devices

for PCs that have Linux support?
