Tech-talk has always been primarily a mailing list, the RSS feed is
provided as a convenience for those who don't want to receive the volume
of email that tech-talk sends out. The only way to send messages to the
list is via email though, there is no way to reply through the website
since that kind of thing attracts spammers, and we don't have the people
to police messages.

The RSS feed does not include the text of the messages, so it doesn't
matter what reader you use, you have to click through to the website to
read the message. I don't think there is a way to make the MHonarc list
archiving software that I use include the message text in the generated
feed, so that isn't likely to change.

Note that on December 10th the archive and RSS feed stopped publishing
messages, but I only found out and fixed them yesterday. Everything
should now be working though, and all the missing messages should be
present.

I see that you are subscribed to receive a digest of the list, thus you
will only be receiving a bundle of messages approximately once a day.
This does make it hard to reply to the individual messages; the only way
to solve that is to uncheck the 'digest' box in your subscription.
Having your mail program divert all tech-talk messages into a separate
incoming folder might help to keep the list traffic separate from your
other mail.

HTH,

- Andrew
