Look at the screen shot for the NDPlugStdArrays plugin here:
http://cars9.uchicago.edu/software/epics/NDPluginStdArrays.html
To view the output of a plugin rather then the output of the detector you change the field labelled "Array port" from SIM1 to ROI1 or OVER1, etc.
That is true for all plugins. So the OVER1 plugin can get its data directly from the detector (SIM1 in this case) or from another plugin like ROI1 by changing that PV.

Subject: Newbie: How do I view the output of an areaDetector plugin?
Imagine for a moment that I know nothing of EPICS, yet have somehow managed to build a working set of software (on Windows) including areaDetector R2-4. I've even got the ImageJ plugin displaying live images from the simulated detector.
I can configure plugins such as the ROI through the medm interface. How can I view the output of a plugin, instead of the simulated detector?
Best regards,
Phil
