I can't get it to build with VS2015 so I am trying VS2010. It is now
harder to find on the internet, and comes as a *.iso, which needs a
special tool do even mount it on windows 7. So many wrinkles.

If you give us more details about what goes wrong when you try to build
with VS2015, we can try to fix the problem.
