Hi Mark,
We currently use the Parker 6K series controllers at the SNS (6K2-8, GT6K). They are very reliable and easy to use, but are almost obsolete and limited in some respects (no closed loop control, no good support for fly scanning). We're looking at the Galil 4000 series as a possible replacement for future beamlines, and in fact we already use this at our HFIR facility. There's already up to date Epics support from Mark Clift at the ALS.
For specialized projects we'll continue to use other controllers. For example, custom built systems from Newport will come with the Newport XPS. PI precision stages only work with their own controllers, etc.
Cheers,
Matt

However, that may be mitigated to some extent by using the synApps tpmac module (and BNL's page regarding setup and configuration).
