There may be a good reason why Yann is using macLib's default value
syntax, in which case the correct line should probably be:

epicsEnvSet "P" "$(P=testIPServer:)"

Mark's point that the trailing colon is missing is probably why your
channels aren't connecting; the macLib syntax should not be an issue.
