Subject: MAXv controller limits

The OMS MAXv motion controllers with firmware version 1.41 through 1.45 sold before May 26, 2015 will have the limit switch inputs ‘disabled’ by default at power-up.  The limits on MAXv controllers with version 1.41 can be enabled with the LM command.  MAXv controllers with firmware versions newer than 1.41 can use the RDF (Reset Default to Factory) command and then followed by an APP command to store this as the power-up default.  The current version (G) of the MAX FAMILY COMMAND REFERENCE MANUAL indicates that the default state of the limits is enabled, however this is not true for the conditions described above.  The manual we be revised.

All MAXv controllers sold after May 26, 2015 will have the limits enabled at power-up by default.  This condition does not affect the firmware as the power-up state is initially set by the test station when the controllers are initially manufactured.  The test station operation has been modified to leave the MAXv controllers limits in the enabled state by default.

Please contact OMS with any questions or for more information.

Best regards,

Phil
