Just want to share some information:

We are running our own code (BluIce/DCSS) on galil while we have a gateway talking to about 50 EPICS PVs of LCLS control.  When we were moved back from LCLS into our own sim room (isolated private network, PVs cannot be connected), the galil will be dead in a few hours (repeatly), cannot ping, cannot telnet.  It needs recycle the power to get it back.

When we connected the sim-room network to our SSRL beamline network (another network card to the gateway machine), it also brought down the galil on that network.

Our guess is the broadcast from CA client to search PVs messed up with galil.  We did not set EPICS_CA_AUTO_ADDR_LIST=NO on the gateway.

The galil on our SSRL beamline runs OK for month before this.  Now it has been running OK for 2 days after we just power down the sim-room.

Next week, we will try to reproduce it in the sim-room.

The affected galils are all DMC4040 Rev 1.2b while old DMC20xx are OK.
