John,

What is an increment adjustment when you are using the mouse?
Once the slider is in focus, you can use the arrow keys to single step (refer to the singleStep slider's property).
Note: To focus on the slider using only the keyboard, you need to create a widget buddy (e.g. Ctrl-S to automatically put the focus on the slider)

If want want to use the mouse to single step, you need to "link" a spinbox to your slider (with signals and slots in both directions) and use the arrows of the spinbox.
In this latter case, you need to set the singleStep property  of the spinbox to the desired increment.

I can't help here. I am away from my Qt and EPICS Qt installation!
But what you seem to be seeing is that your focus change in the middle of the move.
Check your OS settings and, if enabled, disable "focus follows mouse".
That may fix your problem.

All,

I am exploring the Qt display managers options. One of the first things I was interested in checking out were the sliders. (We have several development machines where manual adjustment is a daily part of operations) I find:

1) The epicQt slide has no increment adjustment (? ) Is there anything that would preclude adding this. I don't know where the default increment is set (methods inherited from Abstract Slider?)

2) The caQtDm slider stops following if the mouse pointer moves off the slider knob (?)  If one attempts to move too fast the slider stops following. (Different behavior than EDM/MEDM/CSS.)

Regards,

John Dobbins
