Note that not only did Microsoft drop support for XP but also Oracle. So
you're on your own with Java as well.
My recommendation would be not to waste time with a 14 (!) year old OS.
How about running the software on a Linux terminal server or in a
virtual machine? If you need to run on old hardware you might want to
consider a native Linux.
