Here it SLAC we are heavy EDM users.  
Time to checkout caQtDM  :)

I will also want to give your converter tool a try:  "edl2ui"
Any new updates on the conversion table?

But, I am having trouble building :(

I am trying to build the caQtDM for RHEL6 x86_64
I am also attempting to build on Fedora 21 x86_64
I get the same compile error message for  "qwt_thermo_marker.cpp"
