Hi,

Just for the record, I had to build it somewhere with full permissions (e.g. Desktop) and then move it my /usr/local/epics directory with sudo to get it to work properly.

Cheers
David

Well the module is now built and usable, it’s just the example IOC that is failing. In the iocs/example/exampleApp/Db/Makefile there is a PATH:= directive, you could try adding the path to msi in here and see if it helps...

Thanks,

Tom Cobb

I’m a bit confused by the error, but the directory is not required for the build, so you can either delete the adPythonApp/protocol directory, or comment out the line with $(wildcard protocol) in it in adPythonApp/Makefile.

Thanks,

Subject: Issues with installing the adPython plugin for areaDetector

Hi All,

I'm currently having issues with installing adPython 0.2 for AreaDetector (R1.9) on Ubuntu (12.04). All I did was 1) download the plugin 2) edit the RELEASE to the relevant path of my system 3), type make at the top level.... but the build just stop when entering the adPythonApp/protocol giving me the error "No rule to make target 'install'"

It's probably something silly, but I cannot find what's wrong.... anyone seen this error before or has experience with installing this plugin?

Many thanks

David
