This would still disable all records individually, not the IOC database processing as a whole.
It also blocks "regular" usage of DISL fields of all your records, which might not be acceptable in your application.

If you want to completely pause your IOC (including Channel Access server and client), the function or iocShell command
   iocPause
might be what you are looking for.

Calling
   iocRun
later on should bring a paused IOC back to life.

Note that these calls are not widely and frequently used, so there might still be side effects that we are not aware of. (But would definitely want to know about!)

Good luck,
~Ralph

Put the DISL of every PV to point to one PV - and put a button on just that one. I think that there is mention of this in the Record Reference Manual and/or the Application Developer's Guide.

Subject: Disable database question

Hi All,

This may sound like an odd request, but is there a way to stop processing all PVs in the database? I know I can stop processing individual PVs using  the DISV field, but I was wondering if there was a way to stop processing the whole database at once without looping through every PV.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
