The network topology is set up so that you *DON"T* normally have any sort of
interaction between the 2 . . . . so why now do you need interaction between
the 2?  What is so important that the camonitor system has to stay on that
subnet instead of being put onto the other one?

This is like that example of having the client in Germany and the server
system being in California.  The question isn't really HOW to do it . . .
the better question is WHY do you want to do it this way  . . . .and just
having the answer being "that's how everything is current working now"
doesn't mean that it has to stay that way.

I understand now, the CA client and CA server are on separate non-routeable
subnets.  In that case I am not sure how to do it, though it seems like it
could be done with port forwarding.  Router A could forward packets on a
particular port (e.g. 15605) to port 5065 on the CAS machine.  Then the
camonitor machine would need to change the ports it uses for CA to those new
ports.

Could it possible to Set the CAS's EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST to 202.201.1.5, and
then configure router B, map the port 5065 to
192.168.1.255:5065<http://192.168.1.255:5065>?

or I have to replan the whole net and use layer 3 switch to connect the
subset?
