Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System

The quickest way to get a look at the wide range of hardware that is integrated into EPICS, you may want to consider visiting one of the laboratories.
You likely want to consider visiting one that has integrated Labview.
The Spallation Neutron Source in Tennessee may be a good one.
You are certainly welcome to visit us at Brookhaven National Laboratory if you would like to see a light source.
There is a portion of the website that talks about supported hardware. We have not kept that up. There is support for all of the hardware running at any of the facilities using EPICS. At our facility this includes the Acqiris Digitizers, Struck digitizers,
MRF timing hardware, our FPGA based BPMs and power supplies, all of our remote scopes, all vacuum gauge and pump controllers, all of the facility control that was done in a different system, Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, and a variety of devices that speak
SNMP. Basically - everything in our facility is integrated into EPICS from the chilled water to any beam instrument. I do not know of any bus or hardware that is not supported by EPICS, with the possible exception of hardware that comes with windows and proprietary
software. However, even in these cases I have seen drivers that are layered on top of these packages.

Hi.
My name is Yakir, working in SARAF project, Israel.
We have an operating control system based on national instruments HW and SW (Labview).
Our management would like to perform analysis of the Epics framefork toward our next phase of the project. We would like to test a simple, stand alone, front-end local control system.
We do not have any knowledgebase regard relevant supported hardware products, and we sure do not know Epics at all.
Can anyone here please advise me where do I get started? I red the websites metirial, though I would like observe the framework on real-time hardware, see what operation system runs on it, see the network interface of the PLC/VME etc.
Thank you for any advise,
Yakir
