Hi,
Am I right in assuming that we would not have to write any code to use EtherCAT terminals that are not already in use at other labs? It looks like the important thing is to get the ESI files from the vendor. I notice there are two Python scripts (expandChain.py and maketemplate.py) that are needed to produce the scanner XML configuration file and the database template files for each terminal type. I could not see them in the DLS EtherCAT package. Where do they come from?
On another note, we need a 1 MHz counter and are thinking the EL1262 XFC terminal could do the job. The scanTest example IOC uses a XFC terminal but I wanted to double check that there should be no problem using an XFC terminal.
Thanks,
Damien
