Thanks Tim, for this illustrative example based on StreamDevice. This is exactly what i was looking for, i will try it out.
I think i got the synchronous version running already.
I am complete newbie with EPICS, so for the time being i would like to stay with this pure record-gymnastics.
But i agree, once one knows a bit more how it works it is probably much faster to simply use this asyn-driver approach, and do the programming in c++.
