Just a side note. Back in 2010, our E5810A devices (firmware rev. A.01.09) failed a network scan. I contacted Agilent and they said they were aware of the issue and had no immediate plans to address it. The problem was that the vxWorks debugger was running in that firmware revision. Perhaps that was corrected in the E5810B version.

I am using both.  Both work reasonably well.  The Agilent unit is a bit more robust, since the ICS device is more likely to be adversely affected by computer security scans.  If you put the LAN-GPIB gateway on a private sub-net, then they both will do well.  The Agilent is significantly more pricey.

Hi,

I plan to do GPIB with asyn using a LAN/GPIB  gateway and EPICS running on a Linux PC.

What is the best choice for the gateway between Agilent E5810B and ICS8065?

Thanks in advance.
