Which release of seq are you using? This sounds a bit like a known problem
with one of the earlier releases in the 2.1 series (see http://www-
csr.bessy.de/control/SoftDist/sequencer/KnownProblems.html#known-problems-in-
release-2-1-6).

When building, check that whenever snc is executed it does *not* have the '-i'
switch passed. If it does, search your Makefiles and remove '-i' from SNCFLAGS
definitions.

If you are using a release later than 2.1.6 this does not apply.

Instead of checking all PVs you programm variables are assigned to (as has
been suggested), you could play around with the -c flag to snc, at least to
make sure that missing PVs are really the cause of your problem (with -c the
programs start w/o waiting for connections; this may mean they will not work
correctly but at least you should see them running with seqShow).
