Hi Frank,

FWIW, On the system I am working on I intend to do the
device to engineering units break point table conversion,
and also the floating point conversion using MATLAB or C 
code instantiated into the FPGA; this will reduce the 
processing load on the CPU. I will store the waveform, 
referenced by the val field in the waveform record, in 
single precision floating point scaled to engineering 
units. I _will_ need to arrive at a good idea for 
configuring the parameters for the waveform's break 
point table. Possibly they will be stored as an array 
in another record.
