Franck,
I developed an ADC model-specific custom record (supported hardware config/monitor and metadata to construct scaled waveform).  I wrote a CA client program to assemble amplitude/units/time scaled waveform using the custom record and raw waveform.  This program also converted the resultant waveform and metadata for non-EPICS data repository.

This was in 1999.  I have long had plans to eliminate the client program.
