The INP/OUT field value string doesn't set the address type, that is 
determined by the device() entry in your DBD file that matches the DTYP field 
setting for the record instance.  If you don't set INP/OUT and your device 
support's init_record() routine doesn't complain about the result then 
everything should be fine.
