I've discovered a technique for copying the PV name associated with an EDM or MEDM widget to the OS X clipboard. Perhaps this is common knowledge, but it's new to me so I thought it might be of interest.
1) Position the mouse pointer over the widget of interest.
2) Click and hold the center mouse button. On other systems you would see the PV name pop up and could drag and drop the PV name, but this doesn't seem to work on OS X. At least it doesn't work for me on OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) with XQuartz 2.7.2 (xorg-server 1.12.2) -- the mouse pointer disappears but the PV popup doesn't appear.
3) Press ⌘-C then release the mouse button. The PV popup will appear and then disappear a fraction of a second later, but the PV name is now on the clipboard.
