Hello,

I once got similar results which were triggered by the linux network
driver client side. Although using an Atheros network card it wasn't
possible to transmit "huge" amounts of data. It was possible to send
some kBs to the server but if the data package was to large it got
fragmented and in the end the driver wasn't able to handle that.
Using a second network interface card , a plain intel e1000, fixed that
problem here.
