Hello Amien

I don't usually use NAT (VMware+RHEL5.5). I prefer either "Host only" or "Bridged" connection. That's the easiest way out.
However, if you prefer NAT over those, I would recommend you look into Edit->Virtual Network Editor and Edit the "Subnet/IP" and "Subnet mask" fields, so they will fit your Ubuntu network preferences.

From your message I presume you have EPICS base installed on the host system (win64). I would first test everything under Windows - create an example application, run it and caget/caput/camonitor from a different command shell.

Then try to ping your virtual machine from Windows and vice versa - both system should see each other. You might as well set the EPICS_CA_AUTO_ADDR_LIST=no and EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx environmental variables on your Windows machine, where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the ip-address of your Ubuntu machine.

Or if your Ubuntu is your client then you should make everything the other way around.

Hi
I'm using VMWare Workstation 8 inside my Win64 machine with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS running as my virtual machine.
I'm using VMWare's NAT ethernet protocol but cannot do any CAGET/CAPUT/CAMONITORS etc from this virtual machine.
Any help would be appreciated.
