Eric,

At the CLS in the past we have used optical switch gear primarily to switch UCLP connections on the CANARIE CA*Net (our national research network).

The gear we were using for that project was from BigBagwith: http://www.bigbangwidth.com/

Different application than the one you have, however these are true optical switches so what is carried in/out on the optical connection should not matter.

Elder

Subject: Fiber Optic Switches

We are exploring the use of computer controlled fiber optic switches for switching between redundant signal sources.? Does anybody already use these things?? What brands do you recommend?? How fast do they switch?

All advice gratefully accepted.

Thanks
-Eric Bj.
