The person who sent that encrypted zip-file to this mailing list was trying to
get around the many anti-virus scanners that think all files with a .cmd
extension are Trojan horses, even when they are embedded inside a zip-file and
are harmless to every Microsoft OS out there.
The EPICS community has been using the .cmd file extension for over 20 years.
We shouldn't have to rename our files just because Microsoft can't design a
secure operating system, but in the last year or so it has become virtually
impossible for us to send EPICS modules that contain our kind of .cmd files
via email because of these paranoid and broken virus-detection rules.
