Does this mean we will soon have an application called   Qt BOY ?   Not sure where the naming is going here ....

If I were not already convinced to use Qt, I would be by:

1/ qt designer demo
2/ qt designer demo with epics aware widget
3/ look at the xml (ui) code generated
4/ start from the shell of a application that takes the xml file as an arg and display its content and connect to PV and change values of PV (ASgui like)
5/ open multiple displays and characterize the load on the machine

After seeing the above, I can immediately ditch m/edm

6/ look at installation procedure
7/ look at migration tools (m/edm to Qt)
8/ look at code of a simple interface to Qt (without using designer in C++ / python)
9/ integration with windows, linux, mac osx GUI themes

complete control system environment

10/ traditional applications (Striptool, adt, feedback app, alarm handler...) ported to Qt
11/ 3rd party app (video viewers, ..., non epics aware)   <-- I believe the GigE pyqt app from Pavel  is in that category

I believe as a group, today we can do 1 through 9.
Heck, if we are lucky one single computer guru from Australia can do 1 through 9 alone ;-)
