There are many EPICS tools that understand the MSI library.  For example, from one of my st.cmd's:

[snip]
dbLoadRecords("db/save_restoreStatus.db", "P=SIOC:SYS0:ML00:")
[snip]

"P" is the macro used by the db.

The documentation seems to imply that you can set macro values from the command line. Can anyone tell me how to do it please?
