Subject: porting strategy from IDL

The new subsidiary (Exelis Visual Information Solutions) that provides
IDL has proposed a 20x price increase for our support. I'd like to
hear if anyone else has experienced this and to the point, has anyone
migrated away from IDL to something like Matlab and/or python? Has
anyone successfully used i2py, an IDL --> python convertor?

Thanks,
-ps
