Hi Pierrick,

The read/write access is determined by access security. See section 8 of the Application Developers Guide - Access Security, http://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/base/R3-14/12-docs/AppDevGuide/node9.html.

Strictly controlled by EPICS, no network firewalls involved.

Hi,
I've not been successful in finding where this is documented.

When using caInfo on a record, one piece of infomation displayed is
read/write access to the record. What are the different means of
setting this read/write access? Can a network firewall setting affect
this value, or is it strictly controlled by epics?
Thank you,
Pierrick
