Martin,

My own CSS - that sounds amazing! I like CSS, it's a really cool extension.
What makes NSLS-II a good alternative to other versions like DESY or SNS? I am using CSS_EPICS_3.0.2, which is I guess of the SNS origin.
Do you use NSLS-II at your institute?

Kind regards,
Pavel Masloff

Yes, that should be possible. But this is not recommended because you
have to deal with a lot of dependencies etc.

If you just want to give Control System Studio a try you can start by
downloading a product for another machine - e.g. NSLS-II:
http://cs-studio.sourceforge.net/ This way you only have to copy one
file to your machine. The downside is that some settings might be wrong
for your machine - but you can fix that afterwards. If you want your own
combination of plug-ins or your own site-specific settings on several
machines you should think about creating your own CSS product (see
http://cs-studio.sourceforge.net/docbook/index.html for details).

Cheers

Martin
