I have built all of synApps against 3.14.12.2-rc1 on win32-x86 and
windows-x64 as well as cygwin-x86.  All seems fine.

I was able to build this on cygwin 1.7.9
(that is, uname -a yields: "CYGWIN_NT-5.1 PCBC 1.7.9(0.237/5/3)
2011-03-29 10:10 i686 Cygwin")
with only the usual "SHARED_LIBRARIES=NO, STATIC_BUILD=YES" modification
to configure/CONFIG_SITE.
Without those changes, I got the following error when the build tried to
use antelope:

   ...
   Entering directory
`/home/mooney/epics/base-3.14.12.2-rc1/src/toolsComm/flex/O.cygwin-x86'
   ...

   ../../../../bin/cygwin-x86/antelope.exe -l -d ../parse.y
   make[4]: *** [parse.c] Error 127

synApps also builds on cygwin 1.7.9 without errors against the
successful build of base,
and runs without any obvious problems in the couple of things I've
tested.

discovered before December 12th we will release 3.14.12.2 on that date.
