Folks,

I have created a new EPICS module called measComp that supports USB
devices from Measurement Computing Corporation. The two devices that
are supported in this initial release are:

USB-1608GX-2AO
(http://www.mccdaq.com/usb-data-acquisition/USB-1608GX-2AO.aspx)

This module costs ~$800 has the following features:
* 16-bit analog inputs
   o 16 single-ended channels or 8 differential channels
   o Programmable per-channel range: +-1V, +-2V, +-5V, +-10V
   o 500 kHz total maximum input rate, i.e. 1 channel at 500 kHz, 8
channels at 62.5 kHz, etc.
   o Internal or external trigger. External trigger shared with analog
outputs.
   o Internal or external clock, input and output signals.
   o 4 kSample input FIFO, unlimited waveform length
* 16-bit analog outputs
   o 2 channels, fixed +-10V range
   o 500 kHz total maximum input rate, i.e. 1 channel at 500 kHz, 2
channels at 250 kHz
   o Internal or external trigger. External trigger shared with analog
inputs.
   o Internal or external clock, input and output signals
   o 2 kSample output FIFO, unlimited waveform length
* Digital inputs/outputs
   o 8 signals, individually programmable as inputs or outputs
* Pulse generator
   o 1 output
   o 64MHz clock, 32-bit registers
   o Programmable period, width, number of pulses, polarity
* Counters
   o 2 inputs
   o 20 MHz maximum rate, 32-bit registers

The EPICS driver supports all of these features, including a 2-channel
500 kHz 16-bit arbitrary waveform generator, and an 8-channel 500 kHz
16-bit waveform digitizer.

USB-4303 (http://www.mccdaq.com/usb-data-acquisition/USB-4303.aspx)

This module cost ~$350 and has the following features:
* Counter/Timers
   o 2 CTS9513 counter timer chips. Each chip features
* 5 16-bit 20MHz programmable up/down counters
* Programmable pulse generation
* Programmable delay generator
* Event counting
* Digital inputs/outputs
   o 8 inputs
   o 8 outputs

The EPICS driver includes support for the EPICS scaler record, making
this a very inexpensive way to get EPICS scaler support.
