The Advanced Photon Source (APS) Engineering Support Division at Argonne

National Laboratory has an immediate opening for a Principal Software

Engineer. The candidate will contribute to the ongoing R&D and

development of software tools for the advancement of control system

technology for current and future accelerators. Identify key

requirements for the real-time and application-level software of the APS

Upgrade Short Pulse X-ray (SPX) project. Such requirements will include

fast data acquisition and data correlation from multiple subsystems to

ensure proper and reliable operation of the SPX. Fulfill the identified

requirements by enhancing existing tools or developing new tools.

Contribute to the global accelerator control community by ensuring

compatibility with the EPICS framework. When necessary, engage in

collaborative efforts with other groups, divisions or facilities to

guarantee success of the SPX project.
