I think he said a command-line caget on the same machine worked OK,
but still worth trying.

Does your computer have more than one network card?

Neither a jcaLibrary.properties file nor environment variables should
matter. CSS is setting the JCA/CAJ libraries from Eclipse preferences
( http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/cs-studio/wiki/HierarchicalPreferences ),
i.e. basically what you see under CSS/Preferences/.../EPICS.

When using CAJ, make sure you try both with and without the "auto" address
list in combination with "127.0.0.1".

What was that error?
Did that only happen when you selected the JNI version of JCA,
i.e. not the 'pure java' version under CSS/Preferences/.../EPICS
-> That's expected unless you're running on the few architectures
where we have the JNI binaries included.

The log file shows that you're using the "pure Java" JCA.

Also: What's your CA server?
Is it an ordinary IOC, or some other type of CA server?

If you increase the log level (CSS/Preferences/...) to 'FINE' or higher,
you should see more detail:

PV channel created, connected, received meta data, ....

Maybe that'll help.

Thanks,
Kay
