Folks,

I just discovered that the AVT GigE Viewer program also was not
acquiring any frames when I ran without the filter driver. It worked
fine with the filter driver, and without the filter driver it talked to
the camera OK, but would not acquire frames.

I have tracked this problem down to the Windows Firewall. By turning
off the firewall, both the AVT sample viewer program and the EPICS IOC
now work OK when the filter driver is disabled.

However, I still have the more serious problem that I get a blue screen
when the EPICS IOC application exits if I am running the filter driver.
This only happens on Windows 7, not XP. It does not happen with their
example viewer. That probably means I am not shutting down properly,
but even if I am not, it should not blue screen.

Mark

Subject: areaDetector Prosilica IOCs on Windows 7?

Folks,

I am having problems running areaDetector with the Prosilica driver
under Windows 7.

The same exectuable works fine on XP SP3:

- If the Prosilica filter driver (V 1.20) is disabled it works fine
(though uses more CPU)
- If the filter driver is enabled it also works fine.

In both cases when I exit the IOC application all is well.

On Windows 7 I observe the following:

- If the filter driver is disabled I can talk to the camera. However,
when I try to acquire frames, no frames are acquired. I can exit the
IOC fine.

- If the filter driver is enabled then I can talk to the camera fine,
and I can acquire frames fine. However, when I exit the IOC, either by
typing "exit" or by closing the window, I get a BLUE SCREEN! This
happens every time.

Has anyone else tried to run the Prosilica IOC under Windows 7?

Thanks,
Mark
