Hi Zen,
First you need to get the Linux version of the PvCam library from Photometrics.
Then you would need to modify the Makefile, and perhaps the driver to work on Linux. As I said, I have not tried this, but the people I mentioned in my previous response have tried. I don't know if they have succeeded. I know that the BNL group decided to use Windows with WinView instead.
If what you really want to do is to get this detector up and running with minimal work, then I suggest you download the pre-built version of areaDetector R1-6 for Windows. You can then run it immediately, without having to set up an EPICS build system on Windows, etc. You can run either the WinView or the PvCam driver. There are example IOCs for both.

Hi Mark,
In area detector (1.6) the Makefile for pvCam only creates libraries for WIN32 and cygwin32.
I tried to build the pvCam library for Linux and the compilation failed with many errors.
How can the pvCam driver be used on Linux?
Thanks,
Zen
