Hi all,

Several people pointed me to the right direction: make version.

After building version 3.81 for my solaris box everything works. I had

3.79.1 before (which is by the way the version that comes with Tornado 2.2).

Now everything works.

Thanks to all who helped so quickly.

PS: Was it really (I mean REALLY) necessary to make the build rules

incompatible to older make versions?
