Hi ian,

I made a software component specification template that uses UML diagrams.
Such documents aims at specifing Epics Databases, this is not about the modeling of the Epics Base so this is not exactly what you asked for.
But if your interested I can send it .

Regards.

Hello Qiao,

Thank you for sharing some of the behavioural modelling that you have
done for EPICS base. I can see a lot of thought has gone into your
diagrams, which describe some of the low level interactions eloquently.
I am interested in modelling at and above the Record class, to describe
the specialisation of Record into other types, such as ai, mbbi,
waveform, etc. I intend to use the UML model to design and document some
changes to our vacuum control systems, which seem to be increasing in
complexity. Your model would make a well defined package as a basis for
the underlying EPICS activities.

Which modelling tool did you use?

Best regards,
Ian

Hi,

I did some simple model for EPICS base. Please see the page 8,9,10 in
the presentation attached.
I made the model only to show some basic structure and behavior of EPICS
base. If you are interested in it, we can discuss further how to model
the EPICS base in detail ...

Best wishes,
Qiao

Subject: UML model of EPICS

Does anyone have a UML model of EPICS to hand (partial or otherwise)? At
the moment, I could do with just the package/class diagrams.
It would be particularly useful to get hold of an XMI format file.

Thanks,
Ian
