Subject: EpicsCAServer and EpicsCAClient on Windows 7 64 bit

We have been using the ActiveX Interface for generating EPICS channels with
Labview the last decade.
It is described here: http://ics-web.sns.ornl.gov/kasemir/axca/index.html
Obviously, it is not maintained any longer, but it has served us well...

Today I tried installing it on my new Windows 7 64 bit machine, and it did
not work :-(

I can use the caget and caput commands to read and write to external epics
channels from a cmd prompt, but when trying to generate epics channels from
LabVIEW, it cannot connect to the EpicsCAServer.

I checked in Component Services/Computers/My Computer/DCOM Config, and sure
enough, there are no entries for EpicsCAServer and EpicsCACLient as there is
on my old Windows XP system.

I tried registering the services manually using:
EpicsCAServer.exe -RegServer
and
EpicsCAClient.exe -RegServer
But that did not do the trick... I guess it is understandable as the
executables were made for Win2K...

Does anyone have suggestions as how to move forward from here? Are there any
other LabVIEW ports for EPICS out there?

Thanks,

Bjørn
