Hi, Scott.

It looks like it can't find the readline library.  But this was just
asked about earlier in this thread.  Did you try installing Fink and
then installing the readline package (as mentioned by Eric Norum)?

It would probably be nicer if the vlinac binary package could contain
the readline library or have it disabled so that a user doesn't have to
install any extra software.  Including it is more work, and I don't know
if licensing-wise it's OK, but it would be nicer.
